One of the most incredible 1920s dresses we have seen! Perfect for your inner vamp! This dress features a red silk velvet stand-up collar, balloon sleeves with an heirloom stitching detail at the lower arm. The sleeves and bodice of the dress are fashioned out of brown silk velvet with a stunning red floral devoré (burnout) velvet floral pattern throughout. Perhaps the most interesting element to the fabric is that parts of the flowers are actually hand painted onto the silk chiffon backing. The lower dress is stitched into point at the front, sides and back giving way to the lower portion of the dress which is fashioned out of super soft brown silk velvet. The entire dress is lined in brown silk.
(Please note this dress has no openings or closures, make sure your measurements are smaller than those listed.)

This dress is still wearable as-is but could benefit from a little TLC. There are a couple of small pinholes in the front of the dress and one larger hole and an old repair at the back of the dress (there is extra devoré fabric under the velvet skirt that can be removed and used as an appliqué to stitch over the holes to reinforce and hide them.) Both underarms have discoloration. The left underarm has a hole at the seam and it appears as though both sides of the dress have been tacked up at the seam to make the dress smaller. There are a few small dark spots on the chiffon fabric here and there but are hardly visible. There are two spots on the right sleeve where the chiffon is starting to separate from the heirloom stitching. Please note we do not recommend cleaning most delicate antique items, may have slight smell due to age. The inner slip is in excellent condition. This dress is as-is and is priced accordingly.
