These Victorian era studs are a vibrant and beautiful example of Art Nouveau design at its finest!
Crafted in a brilliant blue enamel with a guilloche pattern and set in 18k gold, each stud has a gold flower that is set with 11 old mine cut diamonds (22 diamonds in the pair). Each stud has a ring at the top, which would make them easy to turn into earrings if desired. It was quite popular for jewelry of the time to convert into other pieces (brooch to pendant; studs to earrings) to make the item more versatile and wearable.
Unlike the machine-cut South African diamonds found in jewelry today, old mine cut diamonds hailed from India and each diamond was hand carved making no two cuts exactly alike. This process was popular until the early 1900s.
Both the diamonds and the gold have been professionally tested and verified.
