In Victorian times, wearing coral jewelry was thought to promote good health and longevity, which is why it was frequently worn by children. Acorns, in particular, were thought to symbolize fertility, immortality and strength. Put those together and this becomes one powerfully symbolic set!

This matching earring and brooch set is truly magnificent. As intricate as it is beautiful, each piece of coral has been hand carved and heavily detailed. From the rippled edges of the leaves to the acorn cupule scales, the impeccable craftsmanship of these pieces is even more spectacular in person.

Both the brooch and the earrings are set in 14k gold, which has been professionally tested and verified. Brooch closes with the traditional Victorian C clasp. The bottom portion of the brooch swivels and has movement, which was a common and popular feature for jewelry of the era.

Brooch is missing 4 pieces, which is only noticeable if you are studying it from the back. One earring is missing a leaf at the top and the other has a chipped leaf on the bottom. None of these flaws detract from the beauty and rarity of this piece. Priced accordingly.
